ABOUT ME
I’m Dr. Arica Austin, a licensed clinical Psychologist in New York - here to guide you through life’s most complex and difficult matters. I truly care about my patients’ well-being and I go above and beyond to help them through all their obstacles!

I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Stony Brook University in New York. I moved to Massachusetts to pursue my graduate education and received a Master's Degree in Child Development from Tufts University. I received a Doctoral Degree from William James College, with a concentration in Children and Families in Adversity and Resilience.
As a doctoral student, I interned at various school settings, a rape crisis center and a private college. These settings afforded me the opportunity to work with clients across the age span. I completed a post doctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital/Medical School at Kennedy Krieger where I worked in an outpatient facility and offered family therapy.
I provide a number of specialized therapeutic services to those dealing with challenging life experiences. I use a combination of Culturally-Sensitive Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, and Play Therapy to help children and families who have faced adversity or traumatic event. I also specialize in anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and family conflict.
